The Fraser Coast region sits above the Cooloola Coast which is just above the Sunshine Coast and encompasses the areas of Fraser Island, Maryborough, Hervey Bay (pronounced Harvy Bay) and The Great Sandy Strait. Hervey Bay is well known for its Whale Watching and is the gateway to World Heritage listed Fraser Island. Nearby in the Cooloola Coast area is Rainbow Beach drawing large crowds of 4wd enthusiasts and campers.

This area spreads from Bundaberg to Rockhampton on the East coast of Queensland, and inland to Blackwater and Biloela.
You will drive past fields of sugar cane, and into cattle country around Rockhampton, then out to the coal fields surrounding Biloela and Blackwater. Driving from Rockhampton to the coast will take you into Yeppoon, and across to Emu Park.
