If you have a 4wd vehicle, it is a fantastic drive along the beach in front of the coloured sands.

Double Island Point is located just south of Rainbow Beach. The point is a magnet for marine life of every description. Dolphins and whales (the latter from July to November) are a common sight here and Wolf Rock is rated as one of Australia's top ten dive spots.
It has a depth of 40 metres, and it is excellent for scuba diving. There is a lot of fish life and you're likely to see cod, wobbegong, coral trout, perch, mackerel, batfish, leopard sharks, trevally, and the resident Grey Nurse sharks. Manta ray are frequent visitors and it is home to several giant Queensland groper. There is also great surf at Double Island Point with a right-hand point break with a length of 50 to 150 metres and on a good day up to 300 to 500 metres.
Entry is by 4x4 along the beach heading north from Noosa North Shore or south from Rainbow Beach.

The Cooloola Section of the Great Sandy National Park invites you into a four-wheel drive adventure amongst rainforest, freshwater lakes and quiet beaches.
Boating is also an excellent option from Rainbow Beach, as Carlo Point offers access to the protected waterways of Tin Can Bay Inlet. From here, recreational boats can put into the Inlet and open up a host of fishing and watersports options for your holiday. And, of course, fishing from the beach remains one of the primary activities of visitors and locals alike.
Whether you're looking for an active holiday or a peaceful getaway, Rainbow Beach is the perfect destination. And it's even more attractive, being the Gateway to Fraser Island.
